sunday fun in the sun

I loved my day with my little monkey. We went to Maplewood Farm for the first time where Chloe was able to run all around, totally overwhelmed by all of the animals and giggling the entire time. Okay, not totally true...we had one meltdown, but only when I had to take her off of the pony when the ride was over. We may have horseback riding lessons in our future (like her mama). Here are some pics from the farm...

When we got home from the farm, and after a wee nap, we played in our little turtle pool. I think it was a little chilly and Chloe kept asking me to sit in there with her...huh...no thanks! She loves the water.

fun & funky at the brock house

I had the pleasure of working with Will & Nina for the past 8+ months on their wedding. Will & Nina were one of those couples (like most of mine) that I loved going to meet with over coffee. Most all of Will & Nina-s guests were from out of town and they wanted to make sure everything was looked after for them - and everything was!

This was one of the most fun weddings I have worked on as well as the most fun to attend. We had a photobooth from Angela @ Photobooth Vancouver. Music by Supertonic Jazz Trio and Hot Hit Productions (Blue was great to work with). Randal Kurt was the photography and he was a pleasure to work with...can't wait to see the pictures!

Okay, so...it was off and on light rain all day, but we decided to try it outside anyway. Well, I did get a couple of "stressful" messages from Nina & Will suggesting that we try the ceremony inside. I didn't get those until about 7pm (after the ceremony). We did it outside and it was perfect...a little chilly...but perfect. Diane Brown (the marriage commissioner) was great as usual and the rain held out until just minutes after the ceremony. Literally minutes...good timing! Still have my record of ZERO rain outs!

The menus and place cards were done by...of course...Blue Skies & Daisies.

Without fail - anytime I go to pick up the wedding party flowers from Oasis on the day of I am blown away. When I saw these HUGE arrangements I was in awe - they really were so beautiful. This is why I love Ali & Shellie at Oasis!

You can barely see her, but she's there...my mega helper Albertine of BSD. She makes my job easy on the day of any event - thanks mama!

Meet my other little working girl - Erica McKeddie who is working for me all summer in preparation for her own company - White Dahlia Weddings She totally rocks and she still talks to me after I shouted orders to her all day - thanks to you too girl!

One of my favorite things was this 4'x8' chalk board that I made for the seating arrangement - looked great in this atmosphere. Getting it there and back was interesting though, but it made it.

You can't see it here (yet) but the party was still rocking after the lights came on and the bar closed, which means this event was a success. Lots of fun people!!

All the best Will & Nina!!!

very proud of my cous...

My very talented cousin, Greg, who lives on the Sunshine Coast wrote this book for teens and I can't wait to get into it. We went to his book signing in Sechelt today and there was quite the turnout.

Thank you Jane for coming along. As you all can see, Chloe loved it too!
