very proud of my cous...

My very talented cousin, Greg, who lives on the Sunshine Coast wrote this book for teens and I can't wait to get into it. We went to his book signing in Sechelt today and there was quite the turnout.

Thank you Jane for coming along. As you all can see, Chloe loved it too!

forsythia, lilacs and tulips, oh my.

The people closest to me know how much i love flowers. So much in fact that it is one of my biggest thrills to anticipate the coming of spring along with two of my favourite flowers. I know where all of the forsythia and lilac bushes are around town and i know which ones are easiest to sneak to with my shears. This year before we even left on our trip i knew i would miss the start of forsythia season. It wasn't a good enough reason to cancel the trip (um, sorry honey but we can't go until the growing season is over because i don't want to miss any flowers this year).
The good news is that i haven't missed the lilacs. Because of the cooler weather this year, they seem to be a bit late. So, if you see a crazy woman climbing a bush with a knife in hand pull over and i'll cut you some too. And, if you feel like getting married in the next few weeks, we should talk about your flowers.

the cure for the winter blues

I just got back from our 5 week tour of 7 States with Brent and our 8 month old Delphine. We made our way south and across to Florida camping in the back of our van. It was an amazing experience and of course it was great to get out of the west coast rain for awhile. Besides a few hazards (car breakdowns, fire ant bites and a crazy fistfight amongst a louisiana family) we have the best memories of spectacular vistas and super friendly Americans....Now its back to work - the wedding season is starting soon!

A Beautiful Day

We totally lucked out with weather for Joey & Tiana's wedding at The Sequoia Grill at the Teahouse last night. The flowers were done by Jane at Budget Blooms . That was my first time working with Jane and I was impressed by her work! The cake was done by...of course, Jill at the Uncommon Cake - Yummy as usual. Pamper me Pretty also did an amazing job with Tiana's hair & make up. Here are some pictures of the venue and all of the detail stuff that us planners love!

Good luck with your move Joey & Tiana - hope life slows down a little for you. Congratulations!!!

My favorite thing to do on a pretty morning is to pack the kid and dog up to go to the doggy beach behind Park Royal. Here are some pics to share from this morning...

Here is Gussie in his glory.

This is what was left of Gussie's ball.

Birdie Sleeping?

We would like to introduce Chloe's new best friend (sorry Gussie) - Birdie. Birdie is a little bird who chirps and twitches its beak and tail...I think, well I pretty much know that Chloe thinks it's real. Thankfully for mommy...it's not.

It's the only thing Chloe is really gingerly with.

She even gives the birdie little kisses on it's beak.

When we put Birdie away, we say "Birdie Sleeping". When Chloe wakes up in the morning she says (very clearly) "Birdie Sleeping???". So cute - it's my fav thing she says now.
